Adverse Events, Stress, and Litigation Webscast: July 10, 2012
Adverse events in obstetrics and gynecology, whether with or without actual medical error, can have a profound impact on the clinician's health, well-being and professional performance. Feelings of isolation, guilt, and shame are common, and often exacerbated when the event results in a liability lawsuit. Fortunately, evidence suggests some successful approaches to maintain clinical best practices and ensure physician health and performance through an adverse event and subsequent litigation.
At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:
- Discuss statistical rates and outcomes of liability lawsuits
- Describe the effects of adverse events and litigation stress on the physician
